Building capacities
Building Capacities is our training programme.
We aim to raise awareness and provide information to frontline professionals across criminal justice, Police, social services, education, housing, VCS, and other sectors.
We offer training on

Violence against women and girls including harmful practices and domestic violence

Human rights and violence against women and girls

Legal advice covering specialist and dedicated areas support BME women experiencing domestic violence

Safeguarding and child protection

Self-harm
We can develop and deliver bespoke training to meet your organisation’s needs.
All of our trainers are OCN Training for Trainers accredited.

Commissioned training
In 2017-2018 the training programme commissioned through London Borough of Newham consists of a course on Domestic Violence and Young People.
This course will
-
Provide you with the confidence to ask young people about their relationships

Improve your knowledge of how to respond to disclosures of abuse;

Develop your knowledge and understanding of the services available to help teenagers in abusive intimate relationships

Enhance your understanding of what defines relationship or domestic abuse and more specifically, what is deemed ‘high risk' abuse

Help you to understand how adolescents may be vulnerable as a result of their life stage
-
Provide you with the opportunity to share experience and best practice with other professionals.
The course dates are
16 October 2017 from 9.30 to 5.30
7 November 2017 9.30 to 4.30.
5 February 2018 9:30 to 4:30
